First Thanksgiving 2013 post

Saddie made it to California!
After flying into SFO, Gabe picked her up...and he and I met halfway for 'the transfer of goods'!  Pictures weren't made, but we had 2 1/2 days of visiting, going to the movie (Captain Phillips), hanging out at Costco...just visiting.   Monday night (actually, EARLY Tuesday morning), Lindsey, Donnie, Benjamin, and William got here.  William was playing with his Saddie...hiding behind her chair...

Lindsey came in to talk to her Saddie...munching on something...

Both Lindsey and her Saddie were drinking their tea...
William was going back and forth...from his Saddie, to his Mimi...
 William is definitely a comedian...
 and definitely a little sweetheart...
His Saddie was calling him back over...
He had to think about it awhile...

Fun times with the little guy!
and his great-grandmother :)

Picking strawberries and being a total ham!

Emerson and I went to a local farm... We actually went there to get a pumpkin since I'd seen a photo on facebook of the place with lots of pumpkins!
When we got there...I told a lady working there what we came for...she said she couldn't sell the pumpkins because they had to cure!  Cure?  I've never heard of a pumpkin having to cure!  (I didn't say that, but I was thinking it.)
I told Emerson, "Oh rats!"  But he seemed a little unconcerned....
The lady working told us there were strawberries we could pick...
Emerson was ready to pick!  We each got a basket...
I had to remind him to not step on the plants....
He'd get excited when he would see a really red strawberry in a different row...and a few strawberries became mush as he walked over them... We had to have a few reminders about etiquette of strawberry picking....

When our baskets were full...we were heading out and I had Emerson pause by the pumpkins...the pumpkins we couldn't buy since they had to cure...

The 'ham' started to come out....

When I asked him to just smile...he responded with, "CHEESE!"

 I love this....

He definitely is the man of many faces...

He looks like he's communicating with his catcher...getting ready to throw a pitch...

Oh, Emerson King...I had so much fun with you!

Veteran's Day

Thinking about my baby boy on this Veteran's Day...as he, Erica, and Thalia are serving our country in Bangkok...  I saw this quote which is so fitting for him:

Great leaders don't tell you what to do...they show you how it's done.  This fits Joshua in so many ways!

Your family is so proud of you, Joshua!

I love you!
