Evergreen, Colorado

On August 15th, we took a drive to Evergreen, Colorado.
It is absolutely beautiful! Evergreen Lake is where we went...at least I think it's called Evergreen Lake!
This is a fraction of the photos my dear brother took of Mom and I.
So now you understand why I put my hand up!
STOP, JOHN DAVID!

 I took some, too!

 Group hug!
We left Mom in that area while we walked a little ways around the lake.  There are these paddle boats you can rent...and there were paddle boards...where you stand on them.

This lodge was hosting a wedding.  You can see the white chairs on the back deck.

Evergreen...definitely a beautiful  area!

Exercising at Red Rocks

The morning of August 15, we decided to go up to Red Rocks to exercise.  I was so surprised at how many people were there doing the same thing!  I would bet around 200 people were there.  It was gorgeous!
They were setting up for that night's concert.  They were testing the sound system, 'one, two, one two'...and then started blasting music.  It was perfect!
These are the steps on the side...but to the right of this is where the seating is.  What we did was jog/walk back and forth along each row.  John David started at the bottom...or about row 18 (below that was roped off because of the setting up) and came up.  I started at the top and worked my way down.  Becky started at the top also.  I went from the top row to the bottom ... and it was 2.46 miles!
As we were leaving, I just took some pics of the rocks from the car...these, of course, aren't anywhere near the size of the ones in the amphitheater.

There's my baby brother...driving us home!

The little transplanted Texans

 This is Brody and Remy...
in their Texas outfits..
while they're living in Colorado!
It was so cute.  I can't remember which one was dressed and outside first,
but then here came the other one,
dressed just alike...
and it wasn't planned!
These little men know a little about Chick fil A..
especially their straws!
Chick fil A straws are the best...
so the boys told me.
Remy works best with one shoe off and one shoe on...he can concentrate better
when he's trying to get the straw in the little hole...
Brody was having to point at the exact spot Remy needed to aim for.
Brody was real proud of himself!
OK, enough of the straw business...
Brody decided to move on to the slide...
 Oh dear...maybe I don't want to slide..
The elephant is definitely a hit with both of these little men...
 Here came Sami...
she turned her little guy upside down...

After they were completely finished with the straw, slide, and elephant,
they just decided to go sit down on the steps!!!
A perfect picture time for Mimi!!!
I think they purposely conspired to NOT look at me at the same time.
 Remy, sit down!
Brody, look at Mimi...
 REMY!!! Sit down!
 Oh my gosh!
Thank you, Remy..
Now Brody!  SIT DOWN!
 Ok, forget it!
It was IMPOSSIBLE to get them both to sit and be still at the same time!
Brody ignored me and just took off running....
Remy went back to the Chick Fil A cup!
Here's the scene...Saddy teaching Remy something (probably a card game), and Nanny telling her little man how adorable he was!
While Papa was watering, Brody decided to abandon his cousin completely and go
help his Papa...
What a helpful little guy you are, Brody!

Little cousins play...and Chris Tomlin at Red Rocks!

Remy and Brody got to play together in the backyard.  Remy is 17 months old and Brody is 18 months.  They're just getting to where they'll play together.
They took turns pushing each other on the elephant.

Brody decided to play a little catch!
 Good arm, Brody!
 OK, forget the ball.
He took the straw out of his Nanny's water bottle..
she didn't care!
I love this picture of Brody and Sami!

Remy!

These little guys were having fun!

The sky was starting to get dark... but before we went inside, I wanted to get a picture of Sami & Brody and Soo & Remy...
Well, someone wasn't cooperating with this picture-taking-session!

That's about as good as it got!

We went inside not long after this picture because it started lightning...streak lightning...thunder...and then the rain.  Sami kept checking her weather app and reassured me it would not be storming when the concert at Red Rocks started.
I told her I was trusting her..

At 5:30, 2 hours before concert time, it was POURING down..there was so much lightning...
But look at this!
We started heading up about 6:15-6:30...and the closer we got, the more blue sky was coming....
Well, it was an amazing night...perfect weather...
incredible company (John David, Becky, and Addison and myself)
and an incredible concert with Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman...and more!

I absolutely loved this concert!  Being at Red Rocks for it made all the difference in the world!
