The Sandbox

The last time I was at Lindsey's, Donnie decided to set up a sandbox for the boys... He had a helper, of course!
Little Red came running along...he wanted to help too!

Some of the sand spilled, so the helper helped sweep it up...
Oops...hopefully the littlest guy isn't getting ready to dump more sand where his brother has just swept it up!
 William was very busy...

 Benjamin was still working....
Benjamin reminds me SO much of his UJ...aka, Uncle Josh... not the original UJ...aka, Uncle John
Benjamin is a worker...likes to help...just like his UJ has always been...and still is!

The boys (and their Mimi) played in the sandbox for a long time.  It was a beautiful day...and it was fun in the sand.  I told them how it took me back more than 50 years (Whoa, that sounds O-L-D!) when I used to play in my sandbox.  I remember mine had an awning or a cover over it to keep me in the shade from the hot Texas sun.  I remember the patio...the brick patio...where the sandbox was.
Buckets...shovels...rakes...how much fun that was for me...and was for the boys... I think a sandbox is one of those 'toys' that never will lose it's appeal to little people.

This has nothing to do with the sandbox, but Benjamin's scooter was parked next to it, and that streamer out of the handlebar catapulted me back more than 50 years once again...and it took me back 30 years to my own kids being young...
I hope you boys are still enjoying the sandbox!  Don't forget to put the cover over it at night :)  Fluffy would probably enjoy it, too!

William is a redhead. Your greatgranddad had flaming red hair. I do remember the sandbox, you in it and Albert and Andy beside you. What memories. Hope Benjamin and William enjoy their sandbox as you did. Love, Saddie

Which great grandfather? Was it Mimi's dad or Granddad's dad?
