The Fishing Trip

It was a beautiful morning for a fishing trip.
Unfortunately, Donnie and Gabe's friend, Christian, weren't able to make it...
but it was really nice for Gabe and Ron to go together...

There were a bunch of boats all heading out for a day of salmon fishing...
Gabe was able to get some great shots of the sun rise...
 and of his Dad...

Some of these are taken with Gabe's camera...and some with his cell phone...

 Gabe caught 3 fish...
His largest was about 19 lbs...
Ron doesn't remember how much Gabe's other ones weighed...Gabe, you'll have to write their pounds in the comments.... no tall fish tales, now!

Those of you who know Ron...well, he smacked his thumb and it bled and bled and .... typical.

I thought this bent rod meant there was a bite on the other end...Gabe said no...he explained how they worked...and when you got a bite, it actually straightened out!
My guy is standing like this because the boat was moving...and about this time, the ocean was pretty choppy.  His largest fish weighed 14 or 15 pounds...and his smallest was about 7 lbs. (Well, he was saying 7 lbs...and then knowing I was writing, he said, "well, about 7 or 8 pounds...it just grew!)

Look how rough the ocean got!

This is a great flag!  The boat owner loves to wave it, because it tells everyone that everyone on board was able to catch their limit!

From left to right.... a father & son (the father was a truck driver, then a baptist preacher, and now is a truck driver again), the boat owner's sister in law and brother, and then my guy and my baby boy.

This is Gary, who owns the boat.  He was fileting the fish...
and then they were packaged up and brought home...

When Ron and Gabe got home....they were sunburned, and exhausted...
but definitely had a great time!
