Mr. Purple becomes Baxter!

Saturday, June 3, we headed north to Salem, Oregon.

We were going to get "Mr. Purple."

 Once we checked into our hotel,

we went to meet Mr. Purple for the first time.

He was loving playing with his mom, Gabi, and his sister, Miss Orange.

 He still had other siblings there:

Mr. Green, Mr. Blue, and Miss Red.

Miss Yellow had already gone to her new home.

See the purple ribbon around his neck?

That's why he was called Mr. Purple.

We had talked and talked about what we were going to call him.

I thought it would be hard to change and call him anything else.  I had talked about Mr. Purple so much...thought about Mr. Purple so much...

We played with him...visited with The Levy's, his breeders...

and then we took off for the night...

29 weeks!

 I flew in from Joshua's...

Lindsey and William picked me up at the airport.

I had to drive home today...

so once we got to Lindsey's,

I moved my suitcase to my car,

ran in to give the boys a kiss and hug,

to grab some ice water,

and to take a picture of Lindsey and ?????

29 weeks!  

Thalia is the GRADUATE!

 

June 1 was Thalia's graduation day!

 We got there a bit early...there was about a dozen of us to cheer her on!

Of course, her dad was there...and so proud!

 Erica's mom, Lizbeth, who she calls Abulita.

 Erica's brother, Peter.

 Peter's daughter, Athena.

 Can you spot Thalia?  She's more on the left side in that line of girls.

 I love this!  The graduates were told to thank their families...

look at Thalia!  So so sweet!

 There she is...in the middle...lining up to get her diploma...

Her name is called....

 We are all so incredibly proud of her!

 We were all sitting in a row...

Athena did really well, walking up and down in front of us after sitting for a long time!

 Here's Erica...

 Erica's oldest brother, Edgar.

 Um?  Do you think Athena has seen people talking on the phone?

 Isn't she gorgeous?

 As I said, we are all so proud of her,

but her dad...

well, they tackled an unbelievable geometry class...

one that she didn't think she needed..

until it was too late to take it as a regular class.

 The school got her into a geometry class from

Brigham Young University!

She and her dad...worked and worked and worked...

and she passed!

 Proud parents...

and another proud grandmother!

Thalia, we are all so very proud of you...

proud of you graduating...

proud of who you are...

You are loved!

Visiting with Blu and Joshua

 May 30th, I flew down to Joshua's.  He and Thalia met me at the airport.

 Thalia had driven...but Joshua drove back.

 It was SO GOOD to see them...

and the reason for my trip at this particular time was to see

Thalia graduate from high school!

 Tuesday, Thalia had to go to school...

Joshua and I hung out with Blu...

and went and got new brakes on Thalia's car...

 Joshua is getting close to retirement...

and with retirement, he plans to relocate...

even to a different state.

Relocating, means selling his house...

selling his house includes fixing it up a bit.

 

This is part of his backyard where he put in new sod..

and oh my, it looks beautiful!

 

This is what all that work does to my baby boy...

I'm so glad I'm here!
