The rest of August 1st

 This is a very special rocking chair...

with a very special little man, of course!

 This rocking chair was first given to my grandfather, David Edward, on his first birthday, 

November 11, 1903.

 My mom then got the chair on her first birthday,

April 12, 1928.

 No, I didn't get it on my birthday...

I guess I should have felt dejected...but I didn't know a thing about it!

I can't remember when I got the rocker...it was after my kids were born.

The chair has never been refinished...where the black is worn off the arms and other places, well, that's from wear and tear from the little people that have sat and rocked in it.

 Some progress on the house project...

 Joshua, things get done when he's here!

I just love him to be here, period!  But he's happier when he has a project!

 I think Walt got tired of standing up...

so he just sat down next to the rocker.

 He was watching his UJ work on the house.

 My little guy...

all grown up!

I love it when they're together!

 "WHOA!" thought Walt.

Well, we need to get Papa in here, too!

 I LOVE this!

Joshua went back to work on the house,

Ron went back to supervising,

and Emerson was probably throwing his baseball around.

Gabe was holding his little man!

 That night, we had salmon from the day's catch!

 It was ready for the grill!

And for our evening dinner entertainment...we have Walt!

He's been doing this for a little while, tilting his head whenever we'd tilt ours.

PRECIOUS...that's what you are, Walt!

August 1, 2016 with Emerson and Walt

Walt has a unique way of crawling...

I guess you call it "crawling"...

he's up on his hands and feet...

and he's fast!

"Yes, Walt.  Your Mimi is talking about you!"

Emerson was busy on his baseball game...

Walt was considering checking out his brother's game...

but wisely, decided against it!

Instead, he decided to read a bit...

Emerson was concentrating....

We were SO excited to have Joshua (UJ) here!!!
Walt was wondering if his UJ was happy holding him..

 "No smile?"

OK, there you go, Walter!

Your UJ is very happy to be holding his newest nephew!

August 1st was a great day here at the Johnston's!

Walt is here! July 31st

 July 31st was a changing of the guard.

Lindsey, Donnie, Benjamin and William took off for home.  Donnie had to work the next day.  Originally, he was going on the guys' fishing trip...but with a wired shut mouth, well, it was too risky for him to go.  Gabe, Emily, and Walt came up the 31st, passing Linz and Co., on the road!

I just love it.  Emerson is such a ham!

I'm bummed they weren't all here together, but I'm still happy they all came!

Emerson said it would just be the two of us for our Mimi-Camp meeting!

He was correct!

Short Update on The Project

 The trim is down...

Joshua has been putting something over some of the areas that they gouged out.

Is it putty?  Not sure, but something to smooth it out.

 "No pictures, Jutze!"  Joshua tells me.

(He still didn't have his shirt on.. I think he looks good but he doesn't seem to agree!)

So, I took a picture of a different part of the back of the house.

Ah, here's Joshua's helper...my guy, Ron!  He's getting the sander ready to sand that stuff Joshua put on.
