Emerson at 10 months old

Last weekend, on March 13th, Emerson turned 10 months old.

You may notice the bruise...wait, make that bruises...on either side of his forehead.
I asked him about his bruises, but he seemed unconcerned...
He decided to demonstrate how he had gotten some of them. I told him he needed to be more careful... and he told me not to worry...that he was insured by State Farm, even showing me the sticker on his push toy.
I told him I'd try not to worry, but that's just what Mimi's do. He's just a little...well, reckless.
He thought about that for a minute...
"Ummmm..."
"Mimi, I'm a big boy!" he told me.
I told him I knew that...but still....
He 'chewed' on that thought for a little longer....
Ok, Emerson...enough of that. Let's show the JohnstonChronicle readers some of your many faces...
Emerson definitely has an appetite...he loves to eat...
He pulls himself up to everything, like he already demonstrated with his push toy...

He crawls around exploring the house. Here, I had followed him into the dining room...

Uh-oh, looks like he's getting a little sleepy?
Nope, just kidding!
He has a mouthful of eight teeth...good thing since he loves to eat so much!

Emerson told me he was getting a little hungry... so his mama put him in his high chair...
She gave him some cheerios... which he loves!
He had a little water in his sippy cup. He loves to drink from it, and he loves to bang the cup against the tray of his high chair.

And, the little sweetheart, even likes to feed his Mimi cheerios.

He's only 10 months old, and he's already sharing!

I love you, Emerson King!

Elijah meets his Texas grandparents!

I'm sure Eli has had a wonderful week with his grandparents...
Look how happy he is!
Grandpa Larry...I know he'll be a great grandpa... Eli needs to be ready for volleyball...for jogging...for hiking!
He also needs to be ready for a lot of love...from his sweet grandmother, Sandra! I told Sandra her heart was going to melt when she saw her little man. I haven't talked to her since she's been in Colorado...but I know what she'll say...
Oh little Eli...you're a lucky little man! I can hardly wait for you to meet your cousins, Emerson and Benjamin!

My boys and a few, a very few of the people who love them!

Both of these precious little men were welcomed into this world with family (and friends) who absolutely loved and adored them...

Father and son... Benjamin and Donnie...

Can anyone love these boys more than their Mimi loves them?

Father and son...

Emerson and Gabe...

Every little man should be so lucky to have such a wonderful father!

What can I say that these photos don't?

Emerson's taking off...

Emerson is full of energy...
He absolutely doesn't stop. As I said in an earlier blog, when I would try to take a picture of him with Benjamin, and it...well, it didn't work. He wasn't still long enough. He loves this little push toy...but his driving skills still need to be a little developed. He stops when he runs into something and has no where else to go. What a riot he is!!!

Sign Language

I was a happy Mimi this weekend...hanging out with my little men! Lindsey brought a Baby Einstein video on signing...

The boys were CAPTIVATED!

I had been trying to get photos of both of the boys together...near impossible at this stage... so at one point, I got between Emerson and the TV...he quickly skirted around me...in this crawling position...and stayed that way!
He thought about practicing signing on his lion...
Benjamin had seen this video before, but he loved it just as much this time! Look at his hands!

Emerson decided to check out the video box...He let Benjamin read all about it...Benjamin thought it was pretty good...Emerson decided he wanted to see the TV better...so around Benjamin he came...Emerson decided he wanted the video box back...Oops...Benjamin didn't necessarily want to give it up!Ahhhh, the beginning of little squabbles between the boys.... I love it! I love them!
