Vintage Emerson

I've always loved old photographs...old black and whites...old sepia...

One of the new 'actions' I downloaded onto PSE9 is 'vintage'...and Emerson was my guinea pig!

Saturday with PSE9

The original Johnston's for the JohnstonChronicles!

My new toy is PSE9...Photoshop Elements 9...I absolutely love it...

and I'm spending way too much time on it...trying to figure it out...
Emerson at Christmas

Today, after watching videos and reading about installation, I finally got up enough nerve to try downloading 'actions'...which are pre-made packages of 'actions' that edit photos without going through as many steps. It sounded so complicated...and it would be if I hadn't studied it, watched, and written it all down...
My big boys at Christmas
Saddie after she rocked Benjamin asleep
Thalia...Oh, how I love this picture!
Thalia making her first batch of scones!

Benjamin and his Mama and Daddy

There is so much to learn...

I was going to paint today...was going to grade papers today...was going to clean the house today...was going to...well, I did none of the above. I DID bake a batch of banana bread and I DID bake a cake for the Super Bowl tomorrow...

NOW, I will go paint :)

"Dac-trow....WOW!"

Benjamin loves all things automotive...airplanes, trucks, cars, tractors...

Behind his house is a HUGE excavator...which he loves to look at...

He calls it the 'dac-trow'...translation: tractor.

Last Saturday, we took a walk to go look at it up close...
His daddy, who also likes things automotive...well, maybe not AUTOmotive, but well, things like airplanes and rockets...was excited to take his little man to see the 'dac-trow'...
It's big...it's huge...
Benjamin was just a tad-bit shy around it at first...
He wasn't too sure he wanted to stand up on this behemoth...
His mama came over and reassured him...

He climbed up on it...holding on tight to his daddy...
It didn't take long...and Benjamin was running around, in total awe of this enormous piece of machinary!

Afterwards, we walked down the easement behind their house to a church and school. Benjamin decided to go up and down the stairs...knocking on the door...and giving kisses through the railing...

He was just so excited he had gotten to visit the 'dac-trow'!

WOW!

Outside on a beautiful day!

Sunday morning was beautiful! It was beautiful weather, but it was even better because my baby girl was feeling better...

I had the door open because I was packing my car...and Benjamin went out and sat on the front porch and played with his train... Fluffy decided to come see what he was up to...Fluffy took off, but Benjamin was enjoying hanging out on the porch...
He started thinking about where Fluffy had gone...so he got up to investigate...
"FLUFFY", he yelled with his hands on his hips...
There was no answer...
His daddy heard all the commotion and came out to see what his little man was yelling about...
His sweet mama came out, too...

Benjamin asked his daddy to hold some of his toys while he went to look for Fluffy...
"FLUFFY!!!"

Fluffy wasn't there...
Ok, so since there was no Fluffy, Benjamin came back to talk to his Mama and Daddy...
How about a few kisses?
His Daddy was wondering where HIS kiss was...
Ahhh...
With his hands on his hips, he trotted off...
yelled a little more for Fluffy...

then came back to give his mama another kiss...
I tried to get a 'family picture', but Benjamin wasn't interested...

He wanted to go see Opa...

which meant he needed to take off his jammies and put on some clothes...
Back outside, he decided to clean out my car...since I was getting ready to leave, he wanted me to leave with a clean car...

Thank you, Benjamin!

Enough of that...

He took off for Opa's...

"Opa! Oma! Paco?" he called...
There was Opa...he picked up our little man...
Benjamin wanted to play...
Opa put him down and off Benjamin went...

"Come on, Opa!"
He wanted to show Opa the tractor...the BIG tractor...
So off they went...
