Seeing a herd of elk...

Our first plan was to head to Fern Canyon.
I had heard earlier in the year of it being closed because of a landslide.
We googled it, looked it up on the National Park Service website,
and it said it was open....so that was our first stop...
or was suppose to be.
It was closed...because of a landslide!

Oh well, we backtracked a little and saw a herd of elk.
The big boys got out and we took some pictures...
a distance away from the elk, of course.
William stayed close to his mama...
The big boys started hamming it up...

 Elk are huge animals...

Addison grabbed some pictures of the elk...
One of our little men, Remy, was not allowed to get out of the car.
He was not a happy camper!

Playing on Wednesday morning

Walt had some good hanging-out-time with his UJ.
Benjamin is in love with his newest little cousin.
He loves to watch and hold him...

Benjamin let Walt know that when he got older, he could play with cars!

That made Walter Lucas pretty happy!

William and Remy were in the living room playing.

Remy was curious about what the big boys had on the table.
Benjamin was making 'shooters', as he called them.

He would make like a garage...but on the back, he built some mechanism that when you pushed it, the cars in the 'garage' would 'shoot' out ...then the garage would collapse.

 a four car 'shooter'

Remy has the motions down pat for talking on his cell phone!
It was a mystery who he was talking to.
The first day Remy came to visit, I took him into the living room, showed him the wood stove, and told him it was "HOT".
Well, he didn't forget!
He probably reminded us about 75 times that it was "HOT"...holding out his hand to remind us not to touch it either.
He and 'Papa" were talking about how hot the stove was.
Remy also loved the remote that turned on the lights and ceiling fans.
Remote control, cell phone, lights, fans...
yep, Remy is just like his cousins!

Walt was taking it all in...
he doesn't really know much about remotes, cell phones, fans, or lights.
He knows a LOT about other things...
like milk, sleeping, mama, daddy, Eme,
and I think he knows how much his Mimi and Papa love him!

We spent the morning playing around, being a bit lazy, but trying to get ready for the day.
It was beautiful weather, and I wanted Soo to see some of the sites.

It just takes longer than you think it will to get this many people ready to leave!

5 Little guys meet each other!

Thanksgiving!  My favorite holiday...for several reasons.
This year, Addison, Soo, and Remy came from Colorado to spend the holidays with us!
Remy is about 20 months old, but looks much older!
They got here first...
When it was time to eat,
he just sat up at the table,
in a regular chair,
like a little man.  He uses his spoon and fork...
sometimes with a little help from his mama.

I told him two of his 2nd cousins were on their way...
When I told him it was Benjamin and William,
he had to think about it.

Unfortunately, Remy was asleep by the time they got there,
but the next morning...
William and Remy started their morning with some sprints around the house.

Tuesday, the first day the boys had together, was a rainy day...
very rainy,
It was an indoor day, playing in the house.

Remy had to go to bed, but the rest of the gang wasn't here yet.
I THOUGHT we were just waiting for Gabe, Emily, Emerson, and Walt.

Standing in the kitchen, I turned around and Joshua walked in the door!
Donnie had gone to the airport to pick him up....
Surprise?  I was in shock.  I couldn't believe he was here!

My baby boy was here from London!
After part of my brain was working, I asked where Erica and Thalia were.
Erica, was surprising her parents in southern California..
and Thalia stayed in London!!!
She had an art institute she was going to in Brighton, England, so she stayed behind.
After Joshua had been here a little while, Gabe & Co., arrived!  Now we were all here! This is one of the reasons I love Thanksgiving so much!
The 3 big boys were a bit...wild!
Running around, having a blast together.
Some were hungry...so we sat around in the kitchen visiting, catching up on stories, getting to know Soo and Soo getting to know more of Addison's family.

It was a great beginning to a great week!
