Terminal 21 and traffic - July 26th in Bangkok

Erica and I woke up early and went to Lumpini Park and jogged/walked 3 times around.  We saw another komodo dragon...actually, we saw 3!  One, in these photos, walked across the street...and a little kitty was close by.  Uh-oh... A sweet little Thai woman came with her umbrella and shooed the cat away..probably saving it from being devoured by the komodo dragon!

During our 3rd time around, we saw another little market.  We decided to explore...the fruits and the seafood were amazing.  I'm curious where all the farms are where the fruits and vegetables come from.  Who is catching all this fish...and where do these people at the markets go to pick it up?

After we got back, I decided to take a few photos to show you around.This is the view from one of Joshua's balconies...looking left...

This is in Thalia's room.   I LOVE the closet doors and doors in this house.  This is Thalia's wardrobe...every room has them like this...

We took off to go explore...and one place I explored was the food cart...the food carts!

and the wires!!!

We were headed to Terminal 21... an incredible shopping mall.  When you live in a city like Bangkok....and you have something like Terminal 21...and you have a 13 year old daughter... you go!

We walked...instead of taking the BTS.  Bangkok has made it easier for people to walk around the city.  First of all, they have 'bridges' that go from one side of these large roads to the other.  Plus, they have the BTS and the underground system.  Walking across one of the bridges, you could really see the effect these 'markets' have on the surroundings...

See this area?  I am still amazed at the poverty...the difference between classes.

We made it!  

This mall is like no other I've every seen.  Each floor is a difference country. The bottom floor is Rome...

Besides the statues, you can see the frescoes on the ceiling...

and the beautiful bathrooms!

I counted 7 floors to this monstrous mall... the 2nd level was Toyko...

We had lunch in the food court..vietnamese food...

and then decided to go to Paris!  You can see on this blue sign that we're in the right terminal!

Back in Tokyo, we watched some guy sing...maybe he was famous????

The shops were small...and had names I had never heard of...

We 'met' a few sumo wrestlers...

As we were walking back, we saw this garden.  It's beautiful!

and, of course, the street food!

We were walking down Joshua, Erica, and Thalia's street, and we saw these bananas.  In the markets, there are always these little bananas.... I haven't eaten one yet, but Erica said they taste the same.

Thalia had youth group, so Sunshine, our driver, drove us to the church.  I talked to him a little about the traffic...how crazy it is.  He said Bangkok is #1 for traffic.  I believe it!

I caught Joshua in a blink...

This was something new.  These VW vans are converted to little bars!  I should have taken a photo from the other side so you could see it opened up.

Leaving the Australian bar...9:30 at night...and still, the food carts are busy!
