Coming home

It's been such a great 3 weeks... Joshua came 3 weeks ago... he was the first to arrive for Thanksgiving.... more filed in...and with each one, I was so thankful for God's traveling mercies... for bringing them each here safely... and in good health. Addison was the last to leave... just this past Friday. We were busy Friday night, and then left early Saturday morning to head south for my People to People meeting. It was all worth it since we got to be with Emerson, Gabe, and Emily.
Yesterday we headed home. Dropping snow levels were in the forecast... so we intended not to be too late heading through the mountains. There was some rain, not much, and snow, again not much. The fog hanging in the mountains was beautiful...absolutely beautiful.
I just got a new lens for my camera... a 50mm f/1.8 ... and I pulled the camera out with this lens as we were driving. It was already dark outside, but the pictures were still turning out!

The snow was starting to stick on the ground, but not on the street...

For those of you who know some of my ... well, some of my past - not so safe driving escapades - this photo is to let you know that my guy was driving, not me.

It was getting so dark, but I kept snapping away...

My guy was driving carefully on the slick roads...

It was literally black outside, and some of the photos started blurring a little...

We were listening to Andrea Bocelli's Christmas CD... it's beautiful! Looks like we were about on the 7th song....
Ahh... we were getting fairly close to home...
almost at our exit...
Christmas trees... we're not putting one up this year since we're planning on heading down to see the kids... and help Joshua, Erica, and Thalia move....
We were getting tired.... almost home...
Turn here...
Home sweet home...

We walked in at 6:30 p.m. to a 53 degree house! It was so cold... my guy quickly lit a fire... As I was warming up, I was thinking how wonderful the past 3 weeks have been...how thankful, how very thankful I am for all the blessing on our family...

So blessed....

Making noise

My little Emerson was a little under the weather today. He really didn't act like he felt bad, but he has a little cold... I could see it in his sweet eyes... and his nose was a little runny...
He introduced me to his lion-friend...and his lion-friend to his Mimi...

Emerson was a little ... well, I think he had told his lion-friend a secret...and Eme was a bit nervous that he would tell...
He was wanting to show us all his book...
After awhile, Emerson went into his exersaucer...it's full of all kinds of toys...
He couldn't believe I was as excited as I was about the toys...One of the toys is this little book. When the pages are turned, it makes noise. I don't think Emerson had quite figured that out...until today! I was sitting there watching...intently watching... and at one point when he turned a 'page' and it made a noise, he just stopped and stared at it...then moved it a little, stared at it again...

After a bit, he kept turning one of the pages back and forth, and it kept making the noise...

It was a riot watching him! He tried to act like it was no big deal...

But it sure was to his Mimi!

His Mimi who hopes his cold goes away quickly!

Emerson eats a Mum Mum

Emerson had his first 'cracker' type food yesterday.
Emily had heard about the Baby Mum-Mum...so she decided to try her little man with one.
I'm not sure what he thought about it at first...
Um? What is this thing I'm putting in my mouth?
Emerson thought about it ...
He held it up for his Mimi to see...
I told him he shouldn't put the ENTIRE Mum-Mum in is mouth at one time...
He looked carefully at this...this...this, whatever it was, in his hand...
"Whadayathink, Mimi?" he asked me.
Emerson kind of made a slight mess with it...
He... well, he sort of ... attacked the Mum-Mum...

Sucking doesn't work, or maybe it does?

Emerson took a little break and showed me his two bottom teeth. I told him I had seen them, but they sure were cute. He's now getting his two top teeth! They're not through...yet...but you can see them!

Yummers!!!

Yep, Baby Mum-Mums... I guessed they passed the Emerson test...
A bit later, his mama put some apple pieces in this little thing...
Emerson puts it in his mouth, chews, gnaws, sucks on it, and he gets apple juice, but no pieces!
He was trying to figure it all out!
After a while, the apple went away...
and he decided he had had enough. It was time to play with his little toes...

So adorable!!!

My little guy definitely likes to eat...kind of like his Daddy...

Long live UJ

Airtime on the Johnston Chronicles can be a coveted thing....
My very young brother, the infamous UJ, felt a little robbed that his blog on his milestone of age was shortlived as the top story on the Johnston Chronicles. I assured him readers would keep reading it.

But...just in case, he's got top-billing again!
