May 24, 2015

Sunday morning...the boys and I started fairly early on the trampoline.  I was getting...well, abused?  Not really... we were just playing hard!
Maybe Emerson was feeling sorry for his Mimi?  He came and sat next to me on the trampoline.
Papa came out with the camera...
and I asked him to take a picture of me and my little men!

William may have gone to play with his buddies, DoPoo and George...but it was just my 6 year olds..
so I asked their Papa,
my husband,
to take a picture of me with the two 6 year olds..
I have a picture when they were 3 years old...
and they were sitting on Benjamin's front porch,
trying to get their fingers just right to show 3...
so today, we did the same thing,
except this time,
it was to show they are 6!
A little more catch...
After baths, Papa decided to dry their hair...
Emerson is the elder of the 3 little men...
Benjamin is 17 days younger than Emerson...
Then William is 2 years and 5 months younger than his brother!
 Emerson with his mitt...
I think the boys were going to switch mitts...?
 Emerson has William's mitt...
probably is a bit small for him
 Benjamin with Emerson's mitt...
Everyone with their own!
Donnie put up a board in the boys' room where he measures their heights...
I can't remember which one of the boys' asked to be measured...
but all 3 were.

 My ham!

 cousins...back to back!

I just love my little men...
These two are 6 year old kindergarten graduates...
almost!

William,
he may be the youngest (for awhile!)
but don't try telling him he can't keep up with Emerson and Benjamin!

May 24th was a fun day with these little guys!

35 years ago today, I lost my dad...
 He loved dogs...
and golf...
and writing...
 and his family!

I think I'm a lot like him...

I think about him all the time...
wishing he could have lived to see my kids grow up...
to see his great grandkids...

but he didn't...

God called him home at 58 years old...

35 years ago today....

May 23, 2015

May 22nd, we drove down and spent the night at Gabe's.  Saturday morning, we took off for Lindsey's, bringing Emerson with us for the weekend!  YeeHaw!

We played...and played...
We played baseball, basketball, jumped on the trampoline, ate waffles and pancakes, played catch..
we had a lot of fun!
I love to play with my little men...
they're fun!
Lindsey bought another tee...

William has fair skin...
reddish hair...blue eyes,
he burns easily.
Lindsey is good about keeping a hat on him....
sometimes I wasn't sure how he was seeing where he was going!

Emerson was definitely cranking out the balls.
Unfortunately, I was right in the line of fire on one of his swings...
and got nailed on the arm.
I moved.

We were having a birthday party in a couple of days, so Donnie was mowing the backyard...
with a little help!

 The tee was definitely fun...
we all had some fun hitting off of it.
I'm not too sure how much good the hat did William when he kept turning it around backwards...

Benjamin was definitely working on his swing!
I had learned my lesson and stayed out of the ball's trajectory!

 We played some basketball, too.
Papa got in on this game.

We also played catch in the house!
Emerson had brought a really soft, larger ball with him.  Then I found, at Target,
a pack of 4 softballs...made out of some softer material.
They're perfect for catch in the house!

Emerson also wanted to practice on some grounders.
 Back outside..
on the trampoline!

 That night after baths...
we played catch some more.

When it was time for bed, we first needed to read some books.
The big boys took turns on the blow up bed.
The first night, Emerson was on the air bed
and the 2nd night, Benjamin was on it.
 They just figured it out...
It's so nice how they just decided and agreed on the sleeping arrangements without any argument!
This was definitely a fun day with my little men!

That Poor PA

My Mom

A little background:  She's been sick...now she's a lot better, but she had some bug...respiratory...for a few weeks.  She finally went to a doctor a couple of weeks ago...well, she didn't see "THE DOCTOR"...oh no, she saw 'the ole PA'.  (Physician's assistant)

Well, the PA had given her some medication...and then a week or so later, when she wasn't any better,  my brother took her into emergency (I think) and she got an inhaler...THEN she started getting better.

Fast forward to yesterday/today....she had a check-up.

I said, "Did you see the doctor?"
"Oh no, of course not!  I saw the PA."  (said with disgust)
Mom told me how she had to wait an HOUR when there was only 1 person in the waiting room when she got there.
"Why did you have to wait an hour?"
"Oh honey, I DON'T KNOW!" (said with disgust) "I told Becky, 5 more minutes and we're leaving."

Well, Mom was called in.

It wasn't the PA, but someone "who didn't know anything."
So this person who doesn't know anything says to my mom,

"I need to measure your height."
"No, you don't," my mom answers.
"I need to do that," this person who doesn't know anything replies.
My dear mother said, "Look, they measured me 2 weeks ago.  I'm 88 years old and I haven't grown in the past 2 weeks!"

This person then tells my mom they need to weigh her.
"No you don't," answers my mom.

Then this person checks her oxygen level.
"What is it?" my Mom asks.
'91 or 92'

Then they take her blood pressure.
"What is it?" my mom asks.
Mom didn't tell me what it was, but she said "It was fine."

So this person tells her that the PA will be in shortly.

My mom's reply:  "Well, she better, or I won't be here!"

Well, in walks the PA.

"How are you, Bonnie?"
"I'm mad and I'm fine!" my sweet Mom answers.

PA:  "Let me check your oxygen."
Mom:  "No, it was already checked and it was 91 or 92!"

PA: "Well, let me check your blood pressure."
Mom:  "No, it was already checked and it was just fine."

PA:  "Well, let me check your lungs."
Mom:  "Well, it's about time."

I don't know what the PA said about her lungs, but Mom told her that she didn't do her job in the first place!  That if she'd done her job in the first place, she (Mom) wouldn't have had to call emergency....and that if she HADN'T called emergency, she would STILL BE SICK.

and my mom walked out....

She told me she was with 'that ole PA' about 2 minutes.

Becky, my sweet little sister-in-law, was sitting out in the lobby...Mom walked out and said, "Let's go."

I told Mom she most likely was that PA's dinner conversation.

"Umphhhh" was all my mom said.

I told my Mom I was sure happy...she definitely sounds and seems like she's feeling better!

She did tell me she has asked the good Lord to help her to have more patience, and that He needed to hurry!

Yep, she's better!
