Mimi-Camp on July 28th

The beach was our destination today!
Benjamin wanted to bring the fishing poles...
'great idea,' I thought.
Well, we tried, but there really wasn't a good place to fish.  The Lagoon where we were most of the time was way too shallow...plus, the one place we found to try had so many plants around it, the hooks got caught every time the boys tried to cast.
Scratch that idea!
They started playing in the sand!

If I remember correctly, William's red Lightning McQueen car is buried under that stick!
Lindsey's friend, Lindsey, was there with her homeschooling group.  They had some kayaks they said we could use.  Emerson and William didn't want to kayak, so we walked over a little incline to get to the ocean.  We didn't go all the way to the water because it is a dangerous area...the land just drops off...deep...quickly...
so we found this log the boys climbed all over.

Isn't that gorgeous?  It's a layer of fog just hanging over the land.

Back to playing in the sand...
Benjamin had gone kayaking...but he was back and we came back...

Our day here ended abruptly when I got a call from Papa...as he was heading to the hospital.
His eye had been bothering him and was getting worse.
I took the crew home and headed to the hospital...
he had a major scratch on his cornea..OUCH!
He got some ointment to put in his eye..and we came back home for dinner...
and playing...
and our Mimi-Camp meeting.

Except for poor Papa, it was another great day!
