The Straw

We had lunch at Panera...Lindsey, Benjamin, and me.  Before we left, I went to get me another refill of water - with a straw.  I got one for my little man, too.  He loved using the straw...

 Paused to swallow...

 Continued to drink as we walked outside and down to Raley's...

 Squatted down to drink...

 When his sweet mama put him in the Bob...he wasn't too happy when he thought we might take his water away...

 His mama reassured him that he could keep his water...

and he sat happily on his potty for a long time after we got home..

They really aren't old photos!

 I've always loved old things..old pictures, old keepsakes from our family...and when I saw how to do this in PSE9, it reminded me of old photos. 

 

 My little men are my perfect little subjects.

We were at Benjamin's house and the boys were eating oranges, playing with the lemon tree (pulling lemons off and throwing them), playing with wood chips, playing with balls, just having a grand ole time!

I, of course, was in heaven:)

My little driver

Benjamin loves to 'drive'.  This day, he wanted to drive Mimi's car...and, of course, he wanted the keys!

I gave him the keys, but didn't really expect him to use them.  Wrong... He looked though them, found the right key, put it in the door...

Once he got in, he started driving...

I was sitting on the side of the driver's side seat...with the door open. He looked at me and said, Mimi, get out!"  I couldn't believe he said that!  So I got out...but then he wanted the door shut.  So  shut the door and went to the passenger side.

 Benjamin LOVED all the dials, the buttons, the lights...

 He turned on every light that could be turned on...both the visors have lights, plus the middle lights, plus the overhead light...then he added the hazard lights...and when he turned on the regular lights, they started beeping...

 My little man was a happy camper...well,a happy driver, I should say!

He's a ham!

 My little man has been trained by his Mimi to not be shy of the camera.  He's been used to it since his first entrance into this world.

This stance is one of his new ones.  I saw him do it multiple times last weekend...making me double over with laughing each time.  When he was told the Pak & Play was being set up for Emerson to sleep in, he got in and tried it out...laying exactly like this...just as serious as this before breaking out into his big smile!

 Benjamin LOVES my phone, "Mimi's green phone", and when I took a photo of the two of us with it, he said, "Mimi, again!"  and we did it again, and again, and again and.....

 It was not enough for me to take pictures of us...no, Benjamin wanted control of the phone and the picture taking. 

 His mama took pictures of us while Benjamin took pictures with the phone...

 Of course, my little man wanted to take pictures of one of the loves of his little life, his mama!

What a ham!

 I've been sitting here watching the Royal Wedding (we were out of town when they married so I taped it)  and playing on PSE9...all day...not a lot of motivation to get up and doing anything much! 

As you may have noticed, I've been having fun making frames...adding text...and, of course, adding textures. 

My motivation for being on PSE9, is making a birthday invitation for Benjamin's birthday party...turning out cute!  I can hardly believe these little guys are almost 2 years old... I cherish these little men and love watching them grow and learn new things... but in other ways, I'd love to turn back time...

Emerson's first haircut

Emerson has always had a full head of thick hair.  I've loved it long, but it was definitely time for a trip to the barber shop!  He had a trim once...but a non-barber...

 

 His daddy decided to take him in to get a trim...I heard it wasn't his favorite thing to do...

 

 
After it was all said and done...well, he looks happy enough!

I switched over to a private blog ... after putting in your email addresses... and calling my buddy, Laner, to have her try to get in.  I don't have to tell you how to do it, because if you're here, you figured it out!

I feel better about all this blogging now...

Going private?

I'm thinking about a change for the Johnston Chronicles.  That change would be that to read it, you'd have to sign in...putting in your email address first.  I read some blogs that are private, and after signing in with my email address a few times, then when I go that site, my computer/or their site (?) remembers me and I don't have to sign in.

I've noticed some traffic reading this that is coming from countries that make me a little nervous...not sure why people in India, for example, are spending 45 minutes on the Johnston Chronicles!  I know there are a lot of people who read this that I don't know...and I love it....it's just that some locations readers come from, I question.  I have Site Meter on my site which tells me general locations, which is how I know about India, for example.  I know many who read this are friends of my kids or 'friends' I've met through facebook...I'd love for you to keep reading....just send me your email address so I can enter it.

How Great Thou Art

I love American Idol...and the year Carrie Underwood was a contestant, I was a fan of hers from the beginning.

I just saw and watched this, her rendition of 'How Great Thou Art'...and it made me cry! Wow!

Word Art

I learned to do a form of 'word art' tonight! How fun this was. I can see that Emerson's name shows up better since it is light behind the letters...but I love the primary colors in Benjamin's jacket...

First I did them separately....
I need to branch out with my picture-taking...
