just made Gunnery Sergeant! I am so incredibly proud of him...
A 'gunny' is just above a Staff Sergeant and just below a Master Sergeant and First Sergeant.
Having a son in the U.S. Marines has given me a whole new perspective on the armed forces. I realize how perfect Joshua has been for this profession. I wrote in an earlier post what a protector he has always been... this is another extension of that protecting nature of him.
Congratulations, Joshua! I am so, so proud of you!
