Old Trinidad Lighthouse

Ron and I headed up to Trinidad today.
It was foggy....which was perfect.
We were going to see an old lighthouse, one that got hit by a rogue wave 100 years ago.
We hiked up Trinidad Head.  As we walked, we looked back at the sweet little town of Trinidad.  You can see the newer lighthouse...with the red roof.
 Trinidad

As we were walking up, we kept stopping to take some photos.  I don't think my guy realized I was taking a photo of him.
This is the old lighthouse.  It looks very much like the newer one! Groups of eight were allowed to go up at a time.  We stood in line..maybe 45 or 50 minutes....not bad!
Once inside, they told us 8 people could go up at a time... these were the stairs...
I took pictures from inside the lighthouse..

On December 31, 1914, the wave hit....you can see the broken glass from it.
These were the people lined up to tour the lighthouse...
Walking back to the car, we stopped along the way to take more photos..
In the middle of the photo, you can see Cher-ae Heights Rancheria...and the Sunset Restaurant...the top most building in the photo...
We saw these black spots in the water...and when I zoomed in my camera, realized it was people paddling on boards...
The coast of northern California is gorgeous...
This was definitely a wonderful day!
