Welcome precious Sullivan!

This picture was taken on August 17th...

Lindsey sent me a message the morning of August 12th.
She said she had had some contractions during the night that had woken her up...but that now (the morning of the 12th) they weren't as intense...and 25 minutes or so apart, but not regular.

At 4:30 p.m., I asked her if she was still having contractions.
"Yeah, but they haven't changed.  They're not regular and not so bad."

At 8:05 p.m or so, she called, and I could tell...
They were on their way to the hospital with contractions 5 minutes apart.

Ron and I (and Baxter) were on the road by 9 p.m.

About 9:20 or so, Donnie sent me a message that they were at Stanford 'laboring' and that Lindsey was dialated to 6 cm.
At 9:47 p.m., Sullivan was born!  Although we only got the word, "We have a boy!"
"Sullivan" didn't come for a couple of days...he was just 'the baby'!

He weighed 7 lbs. 8.5 oz. and was 20.5" long.

This 2nd picture is August 13..
Sullivan was in the NICU so we had to take turns going in.
The boys were waiting to meet their new little brother.
Benjamin was interested in all the machines and what they were for.
William...I'm not sure about this face...but he had to wash his hands before heading into the NICU.
I didn't get to hold Sullivan...as he was all hooked up to monitors.
But his mama got to hold and nurse him..
so I got a couple of pictures.
Lindsey had a private room, which was really nice.
The boys were noticing how her belly had gone down, way down, but there was still a pooch!

There had been an issue with Sullivan's heart...we had known that for quite awhile.  They had discovered it on a sonogram...and then they had done a couple of echocardiograms on him in utero.
It ended up correcting itself, but it took a number of days.

I think this was the 15th that he went under the blue lights for jaundice.
 Lindsey was discharged before Sullivan...
She would come home at night to sleep...late at night...and then go back early in the morning.  Donnie didn't leave Stanford for 5 days.  He was given a bed which was really nice.
William wanted to go to the hospital every day...
I just love this picture...
which actually was NOT indicative of William's enthusiasm.

These are pictures between the 13th-16th...
Lots more to come!
