Eskie's new sleeping spot?

Now Eskie is one of the loves of my life. He's my first cat and I absolutely adore him. He was 17 years old in May...so he's getting a bit elderly! One thing he has NEVER done is get up on the counter. I'm sure he tried when he was a kitty, but he quickly understood that was NOT TO BE!

Fast forward 17+ years...Eskie has now developed this desire to get on the counter. We still won't let him...but he keeps trying. Ron will 'give him the boot' if he sees him. "The boot" by Ron is not physical, he just picks him up, scratches him on the head, tells him he can't be up there, and gently puts him outside. I will usually congratulate him first for BEING ABLE to get up on the stool to get on the counter...then I'll gently remove him.

Well, this is what I saw when I went downstairs this morning...I had to take a picture. Do you think Eskie is guarding the jam?

Hi Jujabbo,
Well, the secret is out. Ron and I have known about Eskie's secret napping place for years, but alas, now you know. Way to go, Eskie!
We love reading your Chronicles. So glad you make time for regular entries. We do enjoy following Camilla's progress. PTL!!
Love ya!

I love this post. Animals can do some really funny things! I don't know what I would do without mine!

What a beautiful kitty! Hi Judy,

Just wanted to thank you for visiting my place this week. I would have come by here sooner but blogger wasn't cooperating AT ALL comment-wise.

Another Jodi Picoult lover. She can't write them fast enough for me. I didn't really like The Tenth Circle as much as her others. My favorite so far is probably My Sister's Keeper. If she doesn't come out with a new one soon, I'm just going to have start at the beginning and start reading them all again. :-)

Thanks again for visiting.

Pitch em' out snoop! That mongrel belongs outside! I don't know what I would do if one of our cats jumped on the counter. Gross.

Well at least someone is showing some interest in the spicey jam. Way to take the heat off Eskie.
