Jake meets Blu

You've probably heard plenty of boy meets girl shows. They're sometimes a little sappy... but today I witnessed an honest to goodness boy meets girl show. Actually the boy was Blu... and the girl, well, it would be more proper to call her a lady... it was my buddy, Jake.

Now Jake is a reader of this blog...and she's been biting at the bit to meet Blu. She is an animal lover - a dog lover in particular - and apparently a golden lab dog lover to be even more particular.I told Blu he had a visitor coming. He pondered this thought for a minute...He asked me to tell him a little about 'this visitor.' So I told him how she had been my friend for... geez, about 20 years. "Wow wee," he barked. I told him she had blond hair - well, that did it. You see, Blu is happy to be a blond, and so he was happy to be meeting another like-made being.Look at this meeting! Blu was minding his best manners...he was real polite, only barking at Jake once. I think it was more of a 'how do you do' bark instead of the normal dogs 'what in the world are you doing here' bark.

Jake, being the 'lady' that she is... and the 'golden lab dog lover' that she is, brought Mr. Blu a treat. Jake wanted to put her best foot forward for Blu, so she asked the person at the vet if beautiful golden labs really liked this particular kind of treat. They reassured my friend, Jake, that indeed, Blu would like it.Well, the person at the vet was a bit incorrect. Blu didn't merely like it...he loved it, he devoured it.

Jake became his friend for life.

In Jake's words, 'He's just like a man... you feed him and he'll love you forever.'

Yep!
