Look who came to visit yesterday! Yep, it's Joshua, Erica, Thalia...and Blu. Blu has some stylish shoes... actually they're called Booties. Here, they're keeping him from sliding all over the wood floor. Usually he wears them so the hot sand doesn't hurt his paws. No problem with hot sand around here. The high today was suppose to be 57... and I have my doubts if it got that warm... in JUNE!
We had a great afternoon...hanging out, getting to know Blu, eating at Joshua's favorite place to grab a sandwich... it's so nice to have them here!
When it was time for bed, I gave Thalia 2 books that my 4th graders loved... Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the sequel . She was laying on the bed reading to her mom... Blu was listening in too.
He also told me to be sure and tell Jake, "COME ON OVER!"
This morning, it took a while to get us all organized. Thalia wanted to go to the forest. Well, there are multiple ones to choose from. So we ended up at Fern Canyon. Part of our mission...to find a banana slug!
There are multiple logs to climb on...they're all great photo spots. Thalia was ready to try them all.
Joshua had to help her up some of the logs. She was ready to pose...Erica and I were ready to take pictures. I took a little over 100 - just today... but I did delete some of them.
There was a great trail to look for the slugs on.
Thalia and her Papa posed for a picture in front of a waterfall. They had been standing there for a few minutes, smiling, before we caught on that they wanted their picture taken.
I was having fun trying out the different color options on my camera. This one of Erica and Joshua is in cyanotype.Joshua took this photo of his Pops and me.Papa introduced Thalia to salmonberries. Everytime they passed a ripe one ... they ate it.Joshua was on the lookout for a banana slug...anything for Thalia! It wasn't until we were on our way out that Joshua spotted the elusive banana slug. We were all very excited... mission accomplished!Thalia was quick to give that sweet, slimy thing a big kiss...Maybe even two kisses...
Ahh, go ahead little friend, you can crawl on my cheek...
Oh, how sweet it is!On our way out of the park, look what we saw! There were probably 6 or 7 bull elk... all very nonchalent with all the tourists stopping to take their pictures.
A great day it was!
