Remembering Camilla

Last night would have been so special to Camilla. It was the night of the 8th Grade graduation.
Her friends, missing her so much, decided they wanted to honor her - to remember her - during their graduation. A chair on the front row was left empty, or that was the original plan. Instead, her dear friend, Tara, placed a bouquet of flowers there. Others put flowers, a flower lei, a tiara, a friendship bracelet...and many wore pins with her photograph on them.

It was a sad night, to be there and see that chair, but I think Camilla would be honored...would be happy, to see how her friends still want to show their love to her.

Camilla... we miss you so much!

How touching that was of Camilla's friends! It brings to mind some lines from a poem by A.E. Smith: My friends would call to mind with loving thought Some kindly deed. . . some gentle word. . .errands on which my willing feet had sped. . .And so I should be loved and mourned tonight.
