February 14th, we head to Boulder!

 February 14th...we took Brody to preschool and headed to Boulder!

It took about 45 minutes to get there...I didn't realize it was so close!

 I had googled "top ten things to do in Boulder" and one of them was to head up Baseline Road

toward the Flatirons.

 We headed up Baseline Road...

and I thought we were going to the Flatirons...

but I was wrong.

What we saw was amazing!

 We climbed...and climbed...and climbed...

till we couldn't climb any more!

There was an area called Lost Gulch...something like that.

Oh my word...it was GORGEOUS!

 We got out and hiked around...

it was cold..38 degrees...

but absolutely gorgeous!

 We assumed that is Rocky Mountain National Park where the snow covered mountains are?

 Ron is totally amazed at these trees that are growing with absolutely no soil. 

 Look at these roots...just running along the rocks!

 After hiking around, we found this bench with a great view...

where we stopped and had a snack before heading down!

 We stopped at another area on the way down...

 and hiked a bit more on some trails...

Hunger started setting in...and we had to be back by 3 p.m. to get Brody.

One of the things on my "Ten things to see in Boulder" was the Avery Brewery.

We asked Siri to lead us there.

Well, after awhile, we started thinking we'd made a mistake.

We were out of town and seemed to take a LONG time to get there.

Well...it was no mistake..

and we absolutely could see why it was in the top ten.

We knew we wanted to come back...

I really wanted to go to Pearl Street...

but for now, we had a great bite to eat and some great beer...

and we headed back to pick up Brody and hang out with Mom.
