Benjamin's first Christmas...with his Mimi and Papa

Benjamin, in spite of being sick, was happy that it was time for his first Christmas...
Actually, at first, he was just enjoying hanging out in his high chair at the table with his Mama, Daddy, Mimi, and Papa...

I told him it was a big day...

He looked to his Papa for clarification...

His Papa came out with some joke... we've got to let Benjamin know he can't laugh at all his Papa's jokes...
It didn't do any good, because he truly thought they were funny...

After Benjamin had drooled all over his outfit, his Daddy dressed him in his Seattle Seahawks outfit. I told him we would not let his Dallas Cowboy relatives see this outfit.
Benjamin was relieved...but I had to admit to him that he looked absolutely adorable!
Once we had that settled, he and his mama sat down to read a little...I told him I was so proud of him for loving books as much as he does...

He was a little embarrassed with all the praise...
He was showing me the blocks he reads...
After he had soaked the front of his Seattle Seahawks shirt, we decided to hang out at the table for a while.

Benjamin loves being up with the rest of the fam...
I told him it was about time for his first Christmas with his Mimi and Papa... he wasn't sure what this meant.

We assured him it would be fun...

With even another new change of clothes, Benjamin was eager to open his first packages... He started to rip open the paper...

and there was the clacking alligator...
After he played with it awhile, he went for a new package. His papa was dangling the alligator next to him, but Benjamin was intent on his next gift... again, he ripped the paper...

He was being real careful....
Oh boy! A xylophone!!!
His mama was excited about making music, but first, Benjamin needed to sample the mallet...or whatever you call the wooden stick...
He opened his stocking...and there were some socks...and a teether...and .....

Benjamin also got some books...(not in his stocking, of course. The books were a bit big for a stocking.)
He decided to pose with some of his gifts...
He wanted to pose in his new Christmas bib from Grammy...
In spite of his temperature, he was a happy little man...

Benjamin played with his new toys for awhile...
told his Daddy all about his day... and then as they say in the Night Before Christmas...
and to all a Good-Night...
Merry Christmas Little Man!
