Happy Thanksgiving with Remy, Addison, and Soo!

Thanksgiving Day!
We are so excited to have Addison, Soo, and Remy here.  They got here last night and we stayed up till after midnight talking.
We headed to the town of Trinidad this morning for
The Blessing of the Fleet.
It's usually held outside by the lighthouse, but the wind was picking up and there was a threat of rain, so it was moved indoors.
We parked and walked to the ocean...and Remy rode his bike.
He has a balance bike and
he is FAST!
I had to run at times to keep up with him!
This is Axel...
his family has been a rock of the Native American culture here for generations.
Axel is in a wheelchair...and couldn't make it up on the stage.
In spite of that, he talked about how he 'felt happy inside' and 'felt good inside'...
and he gave the blessing to the fishermen and their crews.

17 fishermen were honored...
Craig
and Danny...
After it was over, Remy got ready to ride his bike again...

We walked/rode down to the lighthouse...
what a gorgeous place with a gorgeous view!

There is this HUGE bell....

There's a trail that heads down to the ocean...
We went part way down...
and stopped at a bench to take a few pictures!

We then drove around to another beach that had an easier access...

Remy was definitely enjoying himself!

When the waves would come up close and Remy would have to run so he didn't get his feet soaked,
he would come up and shake his hands and say,
"Remy not scared!"

Remy loves to run...
he ran by himself...
he ran with Papa...

and he ran with Aupa...
(that's "Dad" in Korean)

 This was THE friendliest dog...
and he was HUGE!
We think his master was a guy on a body board out in the water.
This dog just would walk around and go up to different people and just hang out.

 We all petted him...
He was about the same size as Remy!

 Oops!  Remy bit the dirt...
actually, the sand...
His mama was cleaning off his hands!
I told him I wanted a picture and he was so very cooperative!

These succulents were along a trail we took to get back to the car...
Remy sat on the back of the car eating dried cranberries while Soo took off his very dirty, sandy, shoes!
Then it was time to head home so we could get busy with our Thanksgiving feast!
The crab pots were stacked up and ready to be loaded...
Crab season opens December 1!

We've had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day...from early this morning to late at night!
