A Visit to the Zoo

Benjamin and Thalia asked if they could go to the zoo. They were getting anxious for Emerson to come play... so we said Ok...and off we went.
Benjamin had never been to a zoo before, so he was walking around checking everything out.

He just stared at the animals...they were quite a bit larger than Fluffy! He was pretty excited when we took him into the petting zoo. Thalia had told him stories of the goats...and how friendly they were...how they'd let you pet them. The animals were very patient with Benjamin...
"What's that?" Benjamin asked.
His sweet mama, my baby girl, took this picture!"Oh no...what's that!" Benjamin exclaimed. Thalia showed him how to gently pet the goats.Thalia is an animal lover...I wouldn't be surprised if she became a veterinarian someday.

The animals had a great time with Thalia and Benjamin...but it was time for us to move on.
The zoo was having a grand opening for some new animals...so they had some special things going on...one of which was a climbing wall...Thalia decided to try her skill...
She got all hooked up...
and she started her climb. Now this is on the 'beginners' climb...
Look at that girl go! Notice, she's almost at the top.
At the top, there was a red button to hit to signify you made it! Yee-haw, Thalia!
Benjamin wondered how scary that had been...He told Thalia how proud he was of her...it was so far up there!Thalia gave him a big kiss for all his compliments...and because she loves him!
After Thalia decided to try the INTERMEDIATE climb, we had to wait a few minutes for others who had been in line to have their turn... Benjamin wanted to practice climbing...so he climbed on Thalia!
Uh-oh, here goes the INTERMEDIATE climb...You may notice her climbing gear...
There is none...
She's climbing in FLIP FLOPS!
Not a problem for my girl! No siree...flip flops were not an issue for my climbing girl! After the climbs, we looked around at some more animals...and then I saw this wheelbarrow...this same wheelbarrow I took a picture of Thalia by when she was either 4 or 5 years old. I need to find that picture and compare!
It didn't take long for my little man to conk out...fall asleep...it had been a big day...and his cousin was on his way!
